Pakipaki paddle club. A club with lozenge section, the handle bound round with three strands of plaited fibre. Collected either during Cook’s second voyage in 1773 or his third voyage in 1777. The pakipaki is the most refined of all Pacific war clubs, approaching the functionality of the two-edged European sword.
